Welcome to New Hamburg, ON!
The town of New Hamburg can be found midway between
Kitchner
and
Stratford,
Ontario
and is located 130 km (81 mi) west of
Toronto.
Visitors to the downtown area will find many well-maintained Victorian homes,
many of which are are used to house businesses such as bookstores, fine dining
restaurants and offices. Flowing through the downtown core of New Hamburg is the
Nith
River which features a 15 m (50 ft) waterwheel, touted as the largest operating
waterwheel in North America. Fishing and picnicking are fovourite pastimes that
can be enjoyed at the Nith River. Popular annual events held in town are the
Moparfest,
the largest Mopar/AMC car show in Canada and the
New
Hamburg Fall Fair which features a demo derby, a kids carnival and so much
more. The
Ontario
Mennonite Relief Sale and Quilt Auction is another popular annual event that
raises funds for the Mennonite Central Committee.
